This reminds me of dictatorships and their firing squads. They bill the family of the executed for the bullets.

The race organizers are F1 themselves.
But unions are the problem, not management.
Downforce on a race car is, in part, another word for suction. If the covers aren’t fully welded to something that’s not going to move, then the covers are going to move. Happened in an Indy race in Baltimore about 10 years ago. It’s part of the cost of a street race - every single cover along the entire course needs…
If I were Ferrari, I’d be suing the shit out of the race organizers for their shoddy track ruining a very expensive PU.
This is the ultimate injury. Break your car due to the track, and get penalized for it.
They weld the manhole, water, sewer covers to the ring. Ring will pull up out of the asphalt.
If we lived in a sci-fi action movie they’d either briefly boost the station to catch up with the bag or an astronaut would tie a cable around their waist and jump after it, only for the cable to snap and another astronaut come to their heroic rescue (and they’d still recover the bag).
The grid penalty is the ultimate insult after a defective track ruins your car and costs beaucoup Euros to fix.
That sucks doubly so because it was through no fault of his own. Also kind of curious how it happened, was the cover not seated down all the way and the bottom of the car clipped it?
I am a liberal who thinks strategically. You should too. Our Democracy is at stake.
“This whole saga really cements one thing for me, though: driving is better than running.”
I’ve said it for years: Any stickers on cars. They lower the value, both perceived and actual. Plus, the more stickers, the worse (and dumber) the driver.
They aren’t saying you can’t do something with it. They are saying that they (GM) aren’t then going to be compelled to offer you coverage.
We are not a free-market economy.
Appeal? They have the right to, but at this point that would be a dumb move, enough PR damage has been done and dragging it out will only make things worse, and likely more costly. They’re already $35m worse off than if just paid the $1m up front, just shut up and pay up, go back to screwing people over.

I’ve got State Farm insurance. I’m getting the itch to switch since they’re revealed as being such shitheads.
Not really, State Farm is terrible. The CEO was just going to keep that money for himself in bonus, anyhow, then pass along the costs to you
