So that’s what they mean by solid axle on a truck?? ;)
These Jeeps aren’t wrecked, they’re just the automotive equivalent of distressed jeans.
edit: There is no rust as well!!
Hey David, now is your time to buy a 2019 or 2020 for $500!
Cement is ideal tho. On my asphalt driveway, during hot weather, I have to put a section of 2x8 under my jack stands so they don’t sink into my driveway. Like, I take the wheels off, finish the work, then I go to put the wheel back on and the car isn’t high enough: WTF?? Oh, the jack stand has sunk into the driveway…
Same here. Was under my car’s dashboard for the big ‘89 quake. That was the day I began stacking piles of acid wash jeans and Milli Vanilli cassette tapes to back up my jack & stands...
Let the earthquakes pay the earthquake tax, I pay the homer tax.
I lived through Northridge, the power went out and we had an impromptu family get together at my uncle’s house, it was a fun day all around. You can keep your hurricanes, those come every goddamn year.
Plus one to throwing a spare tire underneath. I don't trust the jack stands by themselves. The truck I was working on when I was younger shifted slightly on stands at the proper point. It's not worth the what if when it's so easy to put a wheel under each side.
A good idea that I hadn’t thought of (at my place there’s usually somebody around the house, and my work area is in view of a couple of neighbors and a decently well traveled street...)
What we really need is common-sense earthquake control laws.
Great, now they’re gonna outlaw earthquakes.
RIP to the Jeep mechanic. However, I feel a little better about using proper equipment to lift a car - even in the unlikely event of an earthquake / act of an unanticipated power. That’s because cinder blocks, contrary to the police officer’s statement, are never a safe means of jacking up a car. Lifting a car on a…
The cinder block he was using was wrong type of jack stand and it was facing the wrong way to carry a load.

Don't mind me, just popping by to tell harlequin haters to GTFO...
