I think energy is at the top. With clean abundant energy everything else becomes possible. There should be a large increase in funding solar research, 4th generation nuclear and the alternative fusion rectors designs
I take way longer than that to get to sleep. I would guess I average around 40 minutes, and that is even when I am sure I exercise every day, no TV in bed, just a few minutes of reading before going to sleep.
I also have issues of insomnia, but usually my head is so full of crap so 16 mins is waaaaaaay to short. 30mins-1hr is pretty normal for me.
Here's a good one for the kiddos/kiddos at heart:
"I can only speak as a Roman Catholic..."
If you were TRULY a Christian you'd understand that 'innocent baby' is an oxymoron as your branch of religion is convinced that all humans are born with the taint of original sin. Considering that your church not only considers women to be second-class citizens (and, until recently, little more than chattel) I don't…
Satanists have your back women... http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/07/28/…
No. That was people who did those things.
Many of these comments show the equal and opposite problem of science/technology/Fan culture not understanding the law that these lawyers have understanding science and technology. Now Scalia is not the model of a Supreme Court Justice; but the things written here about him are stupid, which only serves to disguise…
I thought this article was going to be interesting, but it turned out that most of the examples were pretty terrible and mostly arrogant.
This is one of the few times I'm surprised at an article on io9. I see nothing wrong with any of these quotes — attempting to state the situation before then making a judgement is simply how the courts system works — and it's a good thing.
Assuming you're serious, it's a joke because (at least in the US) a lot of Christians seem to believe that natural disasters are a result of supporting gay people (among other things they disagree with).
The entire article is about a moral debate. If it were "amoral" there would just be a blank space.
Really? Amoral? Why on earth would you say that? Broaching difficult subjects with viable options are anything but amoral. In fact, I'd say sweeping subjects such as this under the carpet to avoid the distaste is amoral. Child sexual abuse is horrible and can lead to life long problems for the abused. Any treatment…
To quote the great Stephen Colbert, reality has a well-known liberal bias.
"upsetting trend" = "The implications of this science is at odds with my worldview."
As with yoghurt and other fresh stuff - the best by date is a suggestion, it is not the law or absolute truth once in your home. Things can go off before that printed-on date. And things generally keep longer than that date. Believing in it as an ultimate guide to life and everything would be foolish, and quite…
A lot of things that seem attractive from a distance (IE when you're not in a poly relationship) can look a lot different from up close and inside.
Everyone is blowing this is off as some weird fetish-y thing and missing Mark's larger point: this is becoming normal. Let me repeat that again: hardcore, extreme and often dangerous sexual acts, overwhelmingly involving women, are becoming more and more normalized. Things that should be seasoned fetishes and…
