I do think it's unrealistic to expect everyone to let you down. I'm pretty cynical/pessimistic/whatever and there are still a few people I'd trust, even if my general view of people isn't very positive. People don't need to be perfect for you to depend on them.

....No, it's still pretty terrible.

Because even if it's a step forward, it's still bullshit that this is only just happening, and the situation is still so terrible. Yes, it's a good move. Am I going to jump for joy? No.

Final paragraph nails it. Also this effect was seen in people who had FOUR cups or cans of diet soda a day. If someone's knocking back a litre of diet soda a day (which I would hope would be pretty unusual), I think it's plausible that it's not a causal relationship.

Dangerous weapons? I always assumed the Supreme Court was full of it. It's nice to have it confirmed.

It was in Friends. Are you sure it isn't true?

What the hell is wrong with lawyers? They seem come out with this shit at every sexual assault case. Why can't they be made to shut the fuck up and not talk to the press?

It even features in Back to the Future (where it's kind of totally glossed over).

...Did you really not see what they were trying to do there?

She is called Stasi; not sure I'd expect her to be pleasant...

The US used to have a tax rate of 75%. How times have changed.

I don't have a car. And I was being facetious.

I'm sure De Beers gives some to the government, who do actually spend it on the people occasionally. Just like Saudi Arabia and Iran do with their oil money and I'm sure nobody would say we should boycott them...

Right, so the magic cut-off point is at 15 years and 364 days? Glad we've got that cleared up.
