Extinction is a natural process but that doesn't mean that the current spate of extinctions is natural, or desirable. Few, if any, animals can adapt to human modification to the environment (barring those that are we consider to be favourable and basically are our modifications such as wheat, dogs etc.).

Well I was using the conventional definitions of natural and artificial/man-made. Our natural environment is the environment without us, so ours would presumably be a more gradual exit from the last Ice Age instead of the extremely rapid one we're going through.
