There aren't many more facile appeals to emotion than ones exhorting you to sympathise for someone who died whilst "serving his/her country".

Would this be overruled by a federal decision to allow gay marriage? Are there federal regulations on marriage?

I am not confusing arrest records with actual rapes, I'm going on the only data anyone actually has on reoffending. And I did point out that the detection rate was so low as to make any conclusions drawn from it a bit sketchy. But what else could we use? Guesswork?

Eh, for some reason I was kind of all picturing them all in one small room, or getting in the way somehow. Generally when I think of protests, I think of them as being (deliberately and possibly justifiably) inconvenient. I suppose if they aren't getting in anyone's way, it doesn't really matter.

Random shout out for fear of a brown planet. Saw them at the edinburgh fringe festival last year and they ruled:

Uncle Ben's rice adverts (maybe just in the UK) are just as racist. A similar kind of thing: all oriental people are ninjas/shaolin monks.

Kebabs get eaten all over the place, including South Asia. And now I want one.

Or that it irritates visitors who want to go and see art and instead see a hundred breast-feeding mothers. Not that it's objectionable; it's just not what they came to see.

Right, I just thought it was worth checking given that they initially pointed out that the density decreases rapidly as you go upwards...

Fuck all advertising.

What density is that air? Atmospheric pressure?

I was under the impression that predicting recidivism rates (and therefore how successful rehabilitation is) was difficult to do. A quick search online hasn't convinced me otherwise, and your oversimplification of both the causes of sex crimes and other crimes hasn't helped either. Any sources to back up what you say?

Late-term abortions aren't done for shits and giggles either. Generally they're only performed where the foetus and/or mother is going to die, or be severely disabled. I don't see how letting both die slowly is championing women's rights.

What about fixing the prison system? Or is that too drastic?

What a wonderful excuse to post this vaguely relevant video:

I'd argue that the development of the EPR paradox stemmed from a philosophical analysis of QM, and therefore so does Bell's theorem. That's important scientifically given that it leads to quantum information theory, entanglement etc.

I forgot to say that you need to do it over and over again... possibly not implied by what I said.

That is amazing. I could watch that all day.

Yay for the British government doing something not inept.
