My cousin had pancreatic cancer and took his own life last year at 55 because it was totally unbearable. It was terminal and they couldn’t even mitigate the pain; his abdomen kept filling with fluid and I can’t even begin to imagine how horrific it was for him.

I wonder thought if sometimes we have the wrong attitude to cancer. That it is a battle to be fought. That you have to throw everything at the cancer. That you have to fight! It all feels too much like something doctors and pharma like to boost, as opposed to emphasizing living the best life you can with cancer.

That’s true.  No healthy, normal, non-famewhore person would go on this show, so I hope that’s the case for these people as well.  I hope the tears and heartbreak are all for show.  Half of me is sure it is, but the other half thinks it’s real, even if stupid.  The heightened environment of the show probably leads…

It’s like just because the people on this version are old the public doesn’t think they’re going to be just as attention hungry and in it for the money as the younger people, which is a foolish thing to think.
