This was my reaction also.

To be fair, I didn’t think of it at first either until I saw you mention Calendar Man.  But when I think of him I think of the Arkham series version because that was when he was most creepy, in my mind.  When I thought of Capaldi, his build reminded me of Clock King from JLU.  And the rest is history.
