Interesting. Although I have to say I had quite a few best friends like this growing up who I can no longer hang out with. They were a blast when we were 10, 13, 16, 18, even 21. But now their idiocy is no longer “funny”, it’s annoying.

The lack of any Mario Golf/Tennis/Baseball/Strikers games is blatant and unforgivable.

Hottest take of the thread.

Why would you spin 360 degrees for a kill?

Why is a Nicki Minaj selfie story on Deadspin/AM?

“1) You can never take too many selfies” ... I must be confused. I swear I clicked on a link to the Adequate Man blog, not the Adequate Teenage Girl blog.

Goodbye integrity, hello authoritarian-sanctioned blockbuster.

The other problem with the Terminator movie is inherent in it’s core premise. The objective of every single one, from 2 onward, is the same: stop Skynet. And they keep apparently stopping Skynet. But then in the next, we learn they actually didn’t stop Skynet. So after awhile it feels like, what’s the point?

I wonder if the Terminator franchise can redeemed somehow if they go back to their original roots and make the next film a straight up Horror movie again.

Agreed. I just assumed, cynically, that if they ever did, they’d fuck it up big time.

I’d never seen a Mad Max movie in my life; when the franchise was described to me, it sounded unbelievably dumb. I had no hype, no interest whatsoever in a Mad Max sequel. And Fury Road might be my favorite movie of all time. So, uh ... there’s definitely also something to be said for a talented guy with a passion,

Tanked? Worldwide gross is $367 million (so far), not to mention almost universal acclaim. I doubt George Miller is disappointed.

The problem with Jurassic World (ignoring the high heels) is that it never felt TENSE. The first film is a terrifying, edge of your seat, “how are they going to get out of this?!” nail bitter. Even now, after I’ve seen it six million times, it’s still so intense. Jurassic World had none of that. In Jurassic Park the

Actually, I’ve wanted a better Mad Max movie than Beyond Thunderdome for a long time and Fury Road delivered in spades.

Fury Road taught us that as long as you make a REALLY beautiful movie (jaw dropping beautiful), people will totally ignore a weak plot.

The ultimate difference between Fury Road and the other two films is that Fury Road is a passion project by a single man with a single vision (and a shitload of talent). Jurassic World and Genysis were made by committee out of a desire to make money.

One of those magical moments where the full context does nothing to change the meaning of the words spoken. Great work Colin
