I think we are probably in agreement: for most people (with most people now living in urban centers), it should be possible to live and work without needing a car.

It's not that bad! It's mostly Anglophones in Montreal!

If it was a Spanish Armada, you’d get Chris Farley taking off his shirt.

Not quite. The Altezza never made it to North America, and never got more than a 2.0L engine (either 3SGE 4-cyl or a 2.0L I-6), while the IS300 got the 2JZ-GE. The IS300 (and IS200 in Europe) are based on the Altezza, but it wouldn’t be right to call them the same.

It seems like hammer-nail thinking: our urban planners in North America saw the rise of the private car as a panacea for actual planning work: rather than working with the geographical constraints to build urban centers that prioritized accessibility for all (including those without cars) to reach a wide range of

I do remember the Sentra SE-R not being particularly fast (I think it got like 8s 0-60 times with its 180hp from the magazine/benchracing I used to do - still have the Sport Compact Car mag that featured it!).

See, if they’d called it “Alpha” mode instead of “Beta”, maybe Elon would’ve gone for it.

Oh, and don’t forget back then, SE-R actually meant something.

And while the Altima did not introduce this trend (or else they’d be called “Altima lights”), I believe Nissan’s bread-and-butter sedan was the gateway to the design trend for many drivers and onlookers.

I guess the only issue it doesn’t solve, is for drivers who are at the other stop signs who can’t see the “except right turn” condition sign, and might (reasonably) assume that the right-turning driver would also stop - if they act on this assumption and drive through the intersection while a right-turning driver is

What section would a Craiglist Ad “looking for widebody swinger interested in scat-pack action” belong in?

What is this, a luxury yacht for ANTS?!

Surely it can be turned off by Track Mode? Or the Pedal Dance? Couldn’t they do something like what Honda does (I think it’s Honda) where you switch the nannies off by entering “Maintenance Mode” (at which point, anything that happens is legally on you)?

Most people who clamour for “mOAR POwaRRRR” are (to paraphrase the Joker) ‘like a dog chasing a car - they wouldn’t know what to do with it if they caught one’

Putin” things back where they belong?

    That’s just life in Russia

That’s a fair point. I will say that my stock AP1 is nowhere near as confidence-inspiring as the BRZ was - the BRZ was a forgiving and willing dance partner, while the S2000 always feels a bit more twitchy and nervous.

I found it pretty easy to fix the understeering tendencies - you don’t even need aftermarket parts - the OEM “crashbolts” (basically camber bolts) for the WRX could be ordered at Subaru or Toyota dealerships to replace the stock units - which would net you about -1.2 deg of camber - enough to make a difference on the

At the very least, even the humble 1ZZ-FE in the ‘02 Celica GT I had before I got my ‘13 BRZ, sounded better than the tractor-mimicry of the FA20.
