Just based on his public persona (twitter, interviews, and director commentaries) I don’t think Rian Johnson is the type of person to hold a grudge over a movie he didn’t make.

I mean you are exactly right which is why I think he was really standing up for something he believed in. A lot of people seem to think he did this for fame but clearly this was never going to be a good career move for him.

Yeah Baby Yoda is super hot right now so it makes sense that they’d want to jump on it. But it seems like the better play would be to wait 5-6 years to see the reception the Disney plus universe and get next movies get and just retool the whole thing from there.

I think if you mixed certain eras you would definitely get push back. Prequel/orignals/sequels should stay separate.

Luckily for Snyder there is a large group of aggressively adolescent men who eat that shit up.

Wow that’s kind of funny that the interview Patty Jenkins did yesterday-ish she referenced how in the original WW movie the studio wasn’t letting her make the movie and she referenced how the studio wanted Wonder Woman cutting off heads.

I would say the Star Wars prequels are a good example of movies that desperately needed some people to push back against the creator’s vision.

Yeah I think the Dark Pictures Anthology achieves the choose your own adventure feel better. They are shorter games but each character seems to have a lot more variation on how their story can play out.

I see that common criticism but I always think it is the new games strengths.

Free idea for Kotaku: Games to play with your parents.

Yeah this is a great move for the creatives. Gives them a lot more flexibility.

Yeah exactly. That’s why Luke Skywalker Jedi Master was never really something that appealed to me

Yeah even reading this article it says “Luke was looking for a way to destroy the Sith forever”

I love these games as much as the next person, but even as a kid I remember being disappointed. I was excited to see Luke post return of the Jedi and then I saw him in the first mission. Like yep there he is. Standing in the temple being wise. Cool I guess.

Retconning Star Wars movies will never happen. But I think at the rate we are going, recasting the characters for stories in between Return of the Jedi and Force awakens seems very possible. Disney+ has been great for Disney in just 1 year and they definitely are putting as many eggs as possible into it.

Yeah this reminds me of when Guardians of the Galaxy came out. I loved it and wanted more but had to settle for Ant Man and Doctor Strange for a few years.

My concern is actually Star Wars trying to become the MCU which the Disney plus shows seem to being doing. I loved Mando when it was a stand alone show but it really feels like it’s becoming “Oh here is this character. We’ll give you a quick recap but she has her own show so you’ll have to go watch that”

If there are too many cases from the “darkest part” of their community, it kind of sounds like it’s just the whole community.

Yeah like I do think thematically it does all add up (another reply to my comment goes into good detail) but episode to episode there is no real drama between Mando’s beliefs and there character he meets. They more just offer a reflection of who he is and then move on.

Congratulations on changing someone’s opinion on the internet. (Not sarcasm)
