Sorry if this has already been asked, but will it be possible to merge my Disqus comments into a preexisting Kinja account and get it ungreyed on The A.V. Club?

He did a Netflix movie called Expelled (it's a bad Ferris Bueller ripoff, but he's the star so…yeah I watched it). He also has a Netflix reality show that I haven't seen.

That's a very insightful and detailed commentary, but couldn't you have been more succinct?

I was really hoping for an awkward Yularen/Rex reunion. Maybe another time.

The episodes were kind of self-contained, but yeah the arcs were a bit of a risk, especially if one or more of the characters didn't click.

I figured some things could be reused, like "guest" character models and ships, but you have a good point. A lot of arcs had wildly different settings.

Yeah, the promos that air with Rebels look like they're aimed at 12 and under, but the show itself gyrates between age groups.

I don't know if it's a budget or studio interest problem. I always assumed that the multi-episode arcs in Clone Wars actually saved money, since they could reuse production designs and CG models for 3-4 episodes instead of one.

I think CBS is, in general, OK with fan films, but Axanar crowdfunded hundreds of thousands of dollars, sold merchandise under the "Axanar" brand, rented studio space, and hired a professional crew. At some point, it stopped being a fan film and turned into an unauthorized Star Trek production.

So it's still canon, but only in the Game of Thrones universe?

No, different group. This group is spearheaded by former Trek actors like Russ and Koenig. They did "Of Gods and Men" back in 2008 (filmed on New Voyages' sets, but different team).

Morgan is slated to appear sometime this season. The producers are still deciding which Morgan will show up, though.

They did the Mr. Turner episode a few weeks ago!

Boy Meets World was a very prescient show, doing a 9/11 parody despite ending over a year before 9/11.

And then four years after that, they had an episode where Shawn and Angela (broken up at that point) decide to have a one-night stand, no strings attached.

Counterpoint: Marvel is an action movie franchise with a shared universe that includes several highly-acclaimed TV shows.

I think lack of cast was more to blame for S4 woes than anything. The joke quality of S1-3 came from the main cast's chemistry and characterization.

Gimmicks? What gimmicks?!

Definitely. The self-insertion thing was cute and contained to Michael's story (mostly), but the narration was WAAAAYY over the top.

If they're filming in early 2016 and premiering in mid-2016, they're working in a much shorter production timeframe than S4, which (I'm hopeful) means that they got more of the cast back to film at the same time.
