NC resident here. We have yearly safety and emissions inspections...you’d be in deep after 3 years because of the emissions “test.” (Basically they use the OBD2 port to check for readiness and pending codes, and the vin is derived from that. I think you get to wait until your car is 3 years old to do emissions). There

I totally get that. That’s a fairly normal oil consumption amount for that engine. I’m just of the “keep it no more than half a quart low” camp. My 2.0t fsi (GTI) varies in its oil consumption depending on which oil is in the car and what sort of driving I’m doing from between a quart every 2k miles on dealer 5w40 to

I think the main sore point for these cars are the engines need a timing belt every 75k miles, and for someone to have checked and added oil to the full mark every thousand miles. If I was looking, I’d ask how much oil it uses. If they say it’s never used oil / they've never had to add oil, run. Fast! Like the wind!

If it’s a campaign, then there will be money in the service department refitting the interior. They probably traded it in for something like $10k...and if they’re making a bit of money off the interior replacement...it's the end of the fiscal month / year / whatever...they want inventory gone, yadda yadda...then

I would say it’s a vertically exaggerated station wagon for horizontally and gravity challenged people. Let’s be real, that’s the main reason they exist.

That was basically the point of the 2019 version. I guess the new, 2020 that has jumped in price, might be more fun to drive because of the all new RWD architecture instead of the 1999 Volvo S80 FWD based platform of the 2019.

And nothing is said about the fuel wasting rain deflectors?

They should be taught these concepts once a semester starting in middle school. Not just in math class, but teaching it in different classes would help it reach more minds.

Thanks for the link! I believe the GM EV1 also had a heat pump...but they were probably not the best, coming from the mid 90s and all.

Also keep in mind that they’re using straight electric strip heat for most of the cabin heat. That’s extremely inefficient. They should install reversing valves on the ac compressors and run them as heat pumps, then the hvac load at 20F would be not much worse than the ac being operated at 95F. The least efficient mode

The new Jetta is hideous, in top trim. The new Jetta is vile in non top trim. This GLI is merely not good looking. It is an improvement! The Jetta is even more vile or hideous in person, so I guess that means that the GLI will be ugly.

Me too. The one time I saw that GMC 4ws Denali truck pull neatly into the parking space that a Honda Fit likely would have never been able to pull into without making it a 3 point turn, I have wanted one.

Well Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, and Thrifty, et al, need a “Luxury SUV” too.

I don’t care for it. Looks like the acid vaping Toyota designers got ahold of a Z4.

I managed to get 125k (or 123 or 128k, can’t remember exactly) miles from the original front rotors and pads on my 2007 GTI. The pads were dead and the rotors were starting to get rusty. I think it’s definitely more of a time thing for the hybrid or electrics.

There was literally no reason for anyone to buy a City Express aside from the Chevy badge. It’s a (Chissan) Nissan NV200 in every way except badging, but had a worse warranty and GM techs who are unfamiliar with the powertrain.

The analog Amazon. Yes! Perfect description. Thank you :-)

I honestly was kinda thinking that maybe the owner was trying to look non snobbish while driving a Lamborghini, but then I saw dat @$$...if he'd made it look like a Mustang back there, it would have had props from me.

Watch the first episode of James May’s “Cars of the People” (it’s on Prime). It does a fairly decent job of explaining what happened.

But, you can get a DUI for operating a horse whilst intoxicated on Carolina Beach, NC...maybe NC law? Yes, I was called into jury duty for such a case. Did not serve because I knew the arresting officer...
