What exactly are they “getting away” with? This was in one of the latest DDE videos and they said the occupants had already been taken to the hospital and were ok. So it’s not like they don’t know who it was and they some how got away with something. They lost their car and will need to make a claim on insurance just

*puts on conspiracy theory hat*

am i the only one that thinks the lambo revving sounds like absolute dog shit?

NHP Post:

What doesn’t stay in Vegas is often burned, buried, or left in the desert to die.

Not going on a political aside as many are doing— this specific rollback sounds pretty suspect, using customer’s last names and zip codes, AND it doesn’t appear to take into account credit scores. Not saying it shouldn’t have been replaced or tweaked.

Relying on last name and zip code is absurd. That is terrible implementation for a solution to a real problem that deserves much better.

They used names to guess what race/ethnicity they were? I have a cajun last name that’s about 80% black. One of my best friends is named Tyrone...Irish with red hair. Talk about flawed methodology. Especially here in Texas, there are a ton of white folks named Gonzalez and brown people named Smith.

As others have said not going to have the same feel. If you doubt this- drive a 1 series or older 3 or 5- the only people to nail electric steering so far are Porsche and Cadillac, Audi on some- and maybe BMW in a couple M models. AMG is getting better too.

This new one seems to be a move in the right direction- lighter, more feel, etc.

And in all likelihood has a chassis that feels about as alive as Mark Zuckerberg’s face looked during the Senatorial hearings.

That’s not the problem, because there are plenty of other cars with far better electric steering. BMW decided to F-it up, trying to cater to Lexus buyers.

You’re not wrong that the 991 steering is VERY good, but you’re so, so wrong that you can’t tell a difference. Drive a 996 or 997 then drive a 991 and tell me with a straight face that it actually doesn’t feel any different. Guarantee you won’t be able to.

As an E39 owner, I can tell you’ve clearly never driven one. It’s different than an e46 M3, but every bit as fun. Is it a track weapon? No. Is it a fuckin blast on the back roads. Oh yeah. Is it practical. Yes!

Betcha my Monroney is bigger than yours!

I mean, to be fair, the M has always, at least secondarily, stood for money.

This is a performance article. Facts just weigh it down.

According to the linked forum post, there’s suspension and exhaust upgrades as well.

One more reason to not handle your financing through the dealer.

If there is one place consumers have options, it is buying a car. Dealerships, used car lots, craigslist, Carmax, Carvana and the like, Autotrader.
