Wow you are in a mood to fight. Ima bow out.

Actually, yup. I am a single car household. I need a vehicle that’s functional, doesn’t break and doesn’t need expensive service. And hauls my kiddo, hauls bikes and camping gear and canoes and paddle boards. And mulch and lumber and weird shit I find on Craigslist. 911s are cool but given the choice between the two I…
Nah that’s just the barcode if you want to buy the wall.
In short, Fuck Rothko. ;-)
I dig Clyfford Still and Piet Mondrian - but Rothko is just a bit too... nothing for me. and yes i have seen them in person, and no its not my thing.
So, why did I say one is a porsche and one is a camry? because a 911 is pretty rare on the roads. A camry is common. I will see 20 camrys on my drive home tonight but not a single 911. Does that make 911s bad cars? hardly anyone drives them, they must suck. Does that make the camry the greatest car in the world?…
I’ve also seen the Rothkos in the Tate, and only then did I understand his concern with the lighting and hanging of his work being absolutely critical. I’ve never been in another space which *vibrated* with sensation in the same way.
I said it before and I’ll say it again. It never ceases to amaze me that people who say “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and “it’s about emotion” and whatnot will invariably finish their monologue with some version of “tut, tut, my poor philistine, it’s okay that you just don’t understand this lovely art, it’s…
“Anyone could paint a Rothko” is exactly as reductive as “you’re an uncultured philistine if you don’t appreciate Rothko.”
I’ve enjoyed the Rothkos in the Tate Modern. In the flesh, you can see that what in a photo looks like a uniform dark square, is actually layer upom countless slayer of subtly different tones.
Rothko’s earlier work included 1,000 paintings on paper, which I find much more interesting. 100 now on exhibition at the National Gallery of Art in DC through March. Really great at full size.
You want abstract art that you can actually admire, then you want a Jackson Pollock:
It’s a person complaining on a Corvette forum. They’re not broadcasting it to the news and it doesn’t look like they’re suing GM.
Joe Pera springing for Baba O’Riley was a much better buy.
His stage name wasn’t Eddie Creative Commons...
Or you could just slow the fuck down when approaching an intersection with obviously-poor visibility. Have you driven through farm country? It’s mostly just endless straight roads with occasional intersections. Just use the left pedal every once in a while, jeez.
No, there’s no problem. It’s a really dumb thing to be mad about. It’s about as significant as a non-christian saying “Jesus Christ” when they stub their toe. Who fucking cares?
I never understood the hate for these cars.
I had the opportunity to drive one a couple years ago, and it was fun if not blisteringly fast or beastly sounding. I honestly had a great time driving it around Eastern Kentucky back/mountain roads.
Why do you keep trying to put your own words in my mouth? If you have something to say, say it for yourself. Stop being a coward and use your own damned words, not mine.
Fuck him. Charge the guy with damaging private property but then Smith with felony battery.
