willingness to dangle “exposure” in order to exploit workers

Producers of reality television are acting like slimy dickbags?? I’m shocked, shocked I say.

Was she 39 or born in 1983? Can’t be both

This ^

I don’t get this take - and I know many people share it. Look at the last 5 super bowl winning QBs: Tom Brady (GOAT), Carson Wentz, the ghost of Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson and Joe Flacco - only 1 of those would be considered a top 5 QB at the time they won. (let’s be generous and include Wilson and say 2).

Donald is a dreamboat of a DT - but not an edge rusher. BTW- I bet many teams would send a 1st rounder and secure a long term deal with Zeke if it was an option. Teams were willing to trade picks for Bell last year, there just weren’t many that were willing to trade and had the cap space to sign him

You shut your mouth when you’re talking to me

Kum will not replace us”

This is a bad take! Just because other jobs are available, does not mean we should embrace worker exploitation. The World Bank tracks a crazy statistic showing that 10% of the world population lives on less than $1.90 a day - if we extend your logic, then large corporations should pay employees ~$0.50 an hour and call

Agree and well said. Since both Telfer and Semenya are front-page Deadspin today, I will say that the reaction / opposition to Telfer seems a little more suspicious (given she has undergone hormone therapy and complied with NCAA guidelines). Surely, there must be something else along the spectrum other than the

Looking forward to another nuanced argument about how an intersex athlete, with XY chromosomes and 10-30x testosterone levels should be allowed to compete as a female, because Michael Phelps had long arms and he was allowed to swim...

And jackass trolls complaining about others’ opinions without being able to clearly advocate for their own

Surprising you had the restraint to wait a few posts before throwing out the giant red herring of other characteristics that have nothing to do with sex differences (i.e. Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt and now Lisa Leslie). The fact is we don’t separate our sports by who is tall, has long arms / legs, etc., we separate by

What are you talking about?? I asked you a simple question to explain why synthetic testosterone (exogenous) is different from and should be treated so differently from naturally occurring (endogenous).

Do you honestly believe that testosterone levels have no baring on performance? If so, then my first question remains - why consider testosterone a PED / banned substance? I will readily admit to not understand all the nuances between natural occurring testosterone and synthetic - but I look forward to you

Your argument is full of so many unconnected facts / statements and full of of so many red herrings that it is hard to respond to. I’ll just start with your first and main point that “there is no reputable scientific study finding that the presence of naturally produced testosterone helps you be a better athlete”
Wrong

I cast doubt on the article’s intentions and placement of effort - never on the science. Also, I expressed an opinion, not a statement of fact. But since you seem to be so curious - here are some statements of fact from an actual scientist (who disagrees with the IAAF - but not for reasons of science:

This article spends a lot of time attempting to diminish the role testosterone plays in Athletics and implies that it does not give an advantage to Semenya. I’m highly skeptical, given testosterone’s use as a PED going back to the East Germany days. If it is true that Semenya has no advantage, then why not allow all
