They’ve been much more successful as publishers than developers in the last few years, that’s for sure. In regards to XV, I think the main problem they ran into was completely rebuilding their graphics engine. I’m hopeful for their future titles, even if they may take a while.

I think it’s more about the fact that Nintendo’s Wii U Virtual Console, as it currently stands, only offers five N64 games. The point is Nintendo should offer a larger catalog of N64 games than what they provide.

Nintendo home consoles are usually released every 5-6 years. A 2016 release for the NX would only be 4 years after the Wii U. That might not seem like much, but that’s an unusually short amount of time to shift focus on another major piece of hardware. Then again, we don’t even know what the NX will be.
