Cars all became our friend who aced the SAT, got his business degree, and is now doing a solid job raising his two kids in the suburbs while working his way up through middle management at a regional accounting firm. He’s a good friend and can hold his liquor on the semi-monthly occasion he comes out with us.

Nah, a few years before that. This was the S110 coupe, it looked more like this:

I fixed my brakes with a coathanger once.

“Safety” my ass. Show me the numbers.

Christ how low is the bar that this isn’t AT LEAST reeeaaally creepy? He was like top 10 biggest Hollywood heartthrobs in his hay day so he could have bagged any women on the planet and went for high schoolers instead. Not college sorority girls, high schoolers. They weren’t even seniors either. Its fucking weird man.

Really not sure about your cars but have you tried displacing oil from an engine? It invariably takes a lot of effort to remove the small amounts of engine oils from an engine bay as they’ve often dried onto some areas of the engine bay. We tend to maintain our vehicles as we have yearly strict inspections. If your

It always takes my brain a second to adjust when I see a GX 470 doing actual off-road duty. Intellectually, I know they’re built for it, but I have been conditioned to seeing them doing mall parking lot duties for so long, it’s weird seeing one out in the wild.

Definitely do not put premium in the suburban. The vortec 7400 will make no use of it and it is throwing money away. Even with a 7 psi centrifugal supercharger on ours we would run 89 in the winter because it just didn’t need it. No pinging. In summer or under load it was 91 minimum for sure but again... Supercharger.

If you walk into a Mini dealership. You will most likely have to order the $21K priced model.  You walk into one the average price you will probably see in a $27K priced one or higher.  Mini isn't a economy brand, just a premium subcompact one.  BMW has gotten droves of people to pay $40K and above for these.

That base Mini is an awful value for someone looking for a practical commuter, though. Most would probably just get a Corolla.

just as a possible theory on the ‘weird reason’ so many continue to have harleys:

Why would you want an adventure bike that will inevitably leak oil and break down?

1st. Gear: Maybe it’s because just enough of us DO turn into our parents and start to get the Harley itch around age 50.

In a lot of places that makes sense, and I agree with you that we should be encouraging human-powered cycling over e-bikes. No sense in using more resources for something we can physically do ourselves. But for places that see high heat and humidity, pedaling would mean showing up to work looking as though you’d swam

Because every time we even think about funding Amtrak the idiots come racing to howl that it’s a boondoggle, waste of taxpayer money, etc.

I generally agree with the Tesla bashing, but, if they have a factory almost ready to go, and the government isn’t able to tell them when they might be able to start using it, 16 months into the process?  Replace Tesla with any other company and they’d be crying just the same.....

I honestly kind of hate V engines.  They are a bitch to work on.

You talk like minorities don’t also worry about quality of life and wouldn’t love to live somewhere with peace and quiet. I can’t speak to this particular event, but I live in a working class neighborhood and it sucks sometimes. Let’s ignore the assholes blasting music from cars, because that’s a daily occurrence.

Unless I can program Rockfordesque J-turns, to hell with this mess!
