The Devil Drives a Mustang (Rotary Pending)

This guy gets it.

yes

While I get the point of this QOTD, I want to bring this up.

Almost, but not quite. My miles are almost exclusively city until they aren’t. Maybe once a month or so I take a trip.  Like this weekend driving 100 miles out to visit the Renn Faire.

I have an ecoboost Mustang, and I get an honest 21mpg out of it. I have been driving it much nicer lately after gas prices spiked and it turns out you CAN get damn close to EPA rating if you don’t drive it like, well, a Mustang owner.

I don’t know. The situation in Sievierodonetsk seriously worries me. The Ukrainian army has a LOT of its current fighting force (like at least 10% of its army) committed there and the Russians are damn close to encircling it. They are within 2,000 meters of completely cutting off the only paved road out of the

I have done this mental exercise too and the only way I have been able to get it to pencil out is if I trade “like for like”. For example, I have a 2016 Ford Mustang with 60,000 miles. Looking at the car ads, cars like mine go for about $20,000 or so. Let’s just go with $20,000 since it’s a nice happy even number. If

My advice would be to adapt. Can you change your life so that you don’t need a car? If you are in a place where you literally can’t afford to live without a car and can’t afford a car, do what billions of people have done throughout human history when local conditions are no longer suitable for living; move. I know

You aren’t wrong, but it is still extremely frustrating that we don’t have a progressive political party in this country. At this point all we have is a conservative party and a party of barely closeted fascists.

Probably one with a vertical or near vertical tailgate like the Honda Fit had, and not the current Civic “hatchback” which is functionally more of a lift back than a proper hatch. Although if you look back at the history of the Civic hatch, the tailgate hasn’t been especially vertical since 1991.

My guess is actually smell. Dogs have far more sensitive noses than we do and Chucho may not like the smell of the GTI and is expressing discomfort that is being misinterpreted as “being cramped”. Maybe a cleaning is in order?

For less chaotic museums in Paris, try out the Musée d’Orsay and Musée Picasso.

I guess for me it was how I was raised, not as a child, but in business. At my first job, I got to see how it happened first hand. I worked at a very small manufacturer (12 people) that made bespoke research grade micro dispensing equipment. How it generally worked was:

That’s not so bad. The way you presented it, it was like you actually visited multiple dealers going back and forth to squeeze out a deal. But if the back and forth was on phone, that’s a little better.  I would still do it differently but to each their own.

Awesome that you got a deal you were happy with, but that sounds like too much driving around and wasted time for my tastes. I am with MX5-Nut. If they aren’t willing to provide a quote over e-mail or at least phone, then I have no interest in doing business. I won’t even leave my office until I have a quote in hand.

The hard back seat of a police cruiser.  The ones made of hard plastic with no upholstery.  The ones with a space molded into the seat backs to place your handcuffed hands.

I read “current generation Chevrolet Malibu” and my brain thought “Wait, there is a current generation Malibu?”

God damnit.  Thanks to that I now have half a mind to buy one and give it that paint job.

Again going off of possibly inaccurate wikipedia: German health insurance is either public, “gesetzliche Krankenversicherung” (aka “medicare for all”, basically), or private “private Krankenversicherung”. When given a choice, about 87% of German citizens go with public healthcare.

So that made me curious and prompted me to look into how Mexico handles healthcare. I have run into surprises before, like how heavily privatized the healthcare system in China is. That completely stunned me, seeing how China is officially a communist country. I thought for sure that would be something the state would
