North Dallas? Not really. My experience has been pretty good in Dallas pothole-wise. Especially north of 635 in the “nice neighborhoods”. Some of the roads near the warehouses close to the 635/35 interchange can get rough with all the truck traffic, but nothing exceptional.
Interesting point of trivia. When the Chevy Beretta was released, GM was sued by Beretta firearms for trademark infringement. They settled out of court and as part of the settlement there was a symbolic exchange of gifts. GM gave Beretta a Beretta GTU coupe. Beretta gave GM a pair of shotguns.
I fit that profile so close it hurts. Mid level engineer but I am a late-GenX/early-millennial. And I drive a Mustang EB.
For me, I want an EV that is a 2 door 2+2. I will even begrudgingly accept a 4 door with a “coupe like” roofline. I want rear wheel drive, at least a 200 mile range, and performance that at least matches my Ecoboost Mustang.
Like I said, I think the lady at the counter was trying to be nice. There were a few delays in getting to me and I tend to be obsessive-compulsively polite when interacting with customer support people. I keep cheerful but also to the point.

GM took one look at Tesla’s upstart success, and decided to make an electric Nissan Versa rival instead.

I am somewhat opposite of you, I think. I have tried The Drive but I just never got into their writing. But I am enjoying Drivetribe and I find their writing to be on par or better than Jalopnik. (keep in mind, I never watch videos; neither here nor on DT. I prefer the written word). They have already captured Live…
What about 2 door sedans? Would those be ok?
For a Jalopnik alternate, I strongly recommend Drive Tribe. They got off to a shaky start but they keep getting better and better. Plus it has a strong commentariat with a good community.
For some reason, that made me look up Corrugated Metal. When it was invented, how it’s made, etc. The wikipedia article has an interesting tidbit:
I wouldn’t write it off just yet. I won’t lie, but I thought that Jalopnik was a goner a few times now but every time I have been wrong. There may changes coming, but I wouldn’t count them out.
My experience with this is so-so. In my Ford there are 3 different brightness regimes.
I have a Ford Sync 3. It’s fun with Android auto. You are right, with Android Auto the night color palette does work well with the gauges.
