I mentioned in my post that I find single cab/long beds attractive. Having said that, I had a coworker in high school in the late 90's who had a Ram 1500 SCSB with a V8 and a stickshift. I am not a big fan of pickup trucks, but that was actually almost fun.

I think there is something very handsome about a single cab with a long bed.

In Texas, no CDL required. Although you have to get a special non-CDL class A license that does require a skills test in person at a DPS office. I can’t find what that skills test involves though. At least not with 30 seconds of googling while goofing off at work.

It’s legitimately an SOHC engine. It has a camshaft on each bank over the cylinder heads. Single camshaft over each head. SOHC. Just the timing chain setup is a little weird. It really is like what would happen if a shade tree mechanic tried to adapt an SOHC head to an OHV block in a garage.

The 4.0 is a somewhat weird engine. It was originally a Ford of Europe affair, for the “larger” Ford sedan offerings over there to replace the prior Ford V4 engine widely used in Europe. The original engine was a 2.0L pushrod 60° V6, 2 valves per cylinder, debuting in 1964.

Needs more armor.

HS.404 20mm.  It's technically an autocannom and not a machine gun.

This is still the greatest Hispano Suiza ever made.

but could understandably not be expected to sacrifice watching a glorified rugby match.

I prefer “Trucker’s Choice Stay Alert Capsules”

In spite of the common narrative, US police are usually damn professional about their jobs. It’s just when that professionalism slips the consequences tend to be quite serious. I.e. Death. And one death can erase years of trust with a community in spite of any prior professionalism.

I was just reading something about this in the news over lunch. It may or may not be applicable here, but some departments are having a rethink on taser use.

As the beancounters at Mitsubishi said, “It’s sill better than 0 0 0.  Hahahah! Now let’s never speak of it again.  I need a drink

Mostly off topic, a guy opened a pinball lounge near me and it’s awesome. He has a good selection of pinball machines from different eras. He has newer Stern machines, some Williams machines from the 80's and 90's, and even some Gottlieb machines from the 70's including working mechanical scoreboards.

I am just going to say it. The Mitsubishi Lancer has aged very well aesthetically. It’s a good looking car without being overstyled. Looking at you, new Civic.

It certainly was. I guess I should revise what I said a little. It’s hard to imagine a CEO giving up that big of an order and not being strung out by his board of directors right away. I can only imagine that passing on war contracts did little to gain him favor with his board and probably was one factor in his final

To expand on mine just a little.

1917 GM refuses orders for war materials for WW1. Leland quits GM and forms Lincoln. He builds aircraft engines for the war and luxury cars.
