Sorry. I was being facetious to a certain someone and the attitude carried over. My bad had a few beers.

I didn’t see anyone sexualizing them? For some reason a 10 year old boy being straight isn’t considered sexualizing. No one’s talking about these kids having sex, but you can know at a pretty young age that you’re gay and you can be attracted to people accordingly.

Yes she's a work of art.

I think you’re right that Luca’s “smallness” is its strength and that its relatively modest ambitions made it much more effective than recent Pixar films like Onward and Soul. Perhaps that’s also why it also rang true to me as an unmistakably queer narrative. Sure, the metaphor of queerness-to-sea monster is imperfect

I think there are two separate things at play here: interpretation of subtext versus, as you say, ‘rewriting’ the plot. It’s the difference between saying ‘Luca can be read as an allegory for gay people’s experiences,’ versus saying ‘The main characters in Luca are gay.’

why are queer kids creepy? we exist before puberty. I knew I was queer since as long as I can remember.

I just thought it weird that her popularity didn’t make it cool again.

I think the metaphor game is stronger than you’re giving it credit for here. The older women “coming out” at the end really nails it.

Apparently the NYT went with “Calamari by Your Name.”

The sea was mild that day my friends.

Hate-watching, which is the only appeal for any modern Star Trek.

I guess this is a good glimpse into the sort of joyless maniacs that watch Colbert in 2021. Dana Carvey is getting your dander up because he put on a gray wig and said “Listen, Jack”.

“This has gone TOO FAR. BRING ME THE HEADS OF THE CAPITOL STEPS!”

Come on, Ruffalo? Natasha Lyonne is right there.

It bothers me that this site specifically is outraged about this now. This site was nothing but love about this show as little as two weeks ago, and now is mad at it for information that’s been available for anyone who cared to look the whole time.

Turns out the monkey from Raiders has a QAnon account on Gab. His screen name is WatchTheDates.

I don’t know. I’ve never heard anything to suggest that George Lucas might have bad judgement regarding his movies.
