Humanity usually disappoints me. But things like this make me believe that we really are good animals. It’s amazing how touching this was.

The sport that would see the biggest gain from the death of football would be rugby. For sure. Similar, violent, and would allow players of (most) body types to keep playing. And holy shit could the USA tear some other teams up after a couple years of people really taking it seriously.

This has almost nothing to do with this post, but I played against this guy at a football camp when we were in high school (same grad year) and man did he fuck me up all weekend.

CNN seems to have updated this to a knife attack. No shots fired by the actual suspect. Just running around stabbing/slashing people. One quote on CNN says the attacker was entirely silent the entire time - even after he was shot by police. All victims reportedly have non life-threatening injuries.
