Also in Detroit: the whole Black Bottom neighborhood was razed to make way for 375, the I-75 spur that comes up directly onto Jefferson Ave. Whenever I used to drive that highway, I imagined I was driving through the basements of the Black people that lived there. I-94 on the east side, as well.
