“Caping” is when you rush to someone’s defense when they don’t deserve it. For example, if a woman in a feminist discussion group says, “I know that misogynists are bad, but maybe they just can’t help it because of how they were raised!,” she is caping. She’s heroically making excuses when they are not warranted.

Right. “Woke” is also an appropriation, specifically from Black social justice activists and intersectional feminists. It’s actually bad form for non-Black people to use it in many discussion groups (on-line and IRL) because it’s so specific to AAVE and its use comes across as mockery or other offenses.
