She kinda has a point. As a toy, being a blank slate is good for Barbie so whoever is playing with her can project. But as a character you have to act, it might be a bit “uh, what do I do here?”

Being positively supportive doesn’t get enough press, however. It’s good to see it highlighted as a personal trait.

The cybertruk is clearly based on a crayon drawing Elon did in primary school, as is the logo.

Except that I doubt the typical Incel has the income needed to buy one.

They really should have done that when the first opened things, auction off the first 10,000 spots in line

Oh yea, I think they could. But that would be pandemonium. I honestly can’t believe Tesla hasn’t pulled off a bidding for reservation number stunt yet.

I saw the Cybertruck referred to as the IncEl Camino and that’s how I will forever think of it.

I wonder if they could get away with allowing people to pay to jump the queue, or move up in the queue. They could probably squeeze another couple thousand each out of the pre-order people that way.

The Cybertruck is the vehicle in the Dolph Lundgren/Jean-Claude Van Damme Mad Max rip-off.

Tesla fans aren’t going to be frustrated, they are going to lap this up. “OMG, look how great and generous Elmo is!” While ignoring the ulterior motive of keeping peoples interest free loans for as long as possible AND selling them another car at the same time.

that’s really your cross to bear

I personally like the theory that “Mad Max” is character that people tell stories about around the post apocalyptic camp fire. He’s a legend and the movies are just myths about him. That why even the first three don’t really blend well together when you really watch them.

The timeline doesn’t work. It makes more sense to look at Fury Road as a reboot or that the Max in FR is a different person than Mel Gibson’s Max, who either doesn’t exist in this version or Hardy’s Max is inspired by or impersonating. Miller admits that it’s not clear, and I’d say it’s not particularly important.

How does the timeline even work? Max was a young cop as civilization was collapsing, so if this movie is 45 years after that, and you add 20 years to get to Fury Road, Max should have been about 90 in Fury Road.

The (relatively few) blatantly CGI bits of Fury Road were also the least convincing parts, and thankfully they were rare, as well as completely irrelevant against the backdrop of such an awesome movie. I’m not worried about that.

Good. Means more money was spent on the practical effects Miller is known for.

Silly civilians, he’s in law enforcement, not law abidement...

aka bad cops

so here’s my theory. the REAL Karens are these small minded dickless fucks who think they can do whatever they want. They’re not limited to badge wearing bootlickers either. for the most part, cops in general are pretty law abiding, but when you get a bad one, they occupy the top 1% of dickheads in their respective
