You’re not a bad person for disliking TLJ. It just happens that a lot of bad people were Very Loud about their dislike of that movie, and made sure to be extra shitty about voicing their opinion.
It’s ok to like or dislike either movie, as long as you’re not a dick about it (which you don’t seem to be).
You specifically aren’t necessarily a bad person for not liking TLJ. There is plenty I disliked with it too :)
From my perspective it’s been the same fucking problem through the whole trilogy. Movie comes out, it’s star wars I like it and things are good for a while until Matt and Trey parker end up convincing a bunch of dismissive assholes start hording in yelling that I shouldn’t like it because XYZ. Last Jedi comes out and…
Exactly this. The writers and commenters of this site just resorted to if you don’t like TLJ you must be sexist. Honestly the writers were the worst of it constantly making articles explaining why youre a bad person for not liking TLJ.
I felt the same way about The Last Jedi, but the consensus was that that made me a bad person. Why is it okay to not like Rise of Skywalker (which I did, actually, enjoy), and not okay to not like Last Jedi?
For the most part, the “reason” is that TLJ was so divisive that the arguments turned cartoonish and vitriolic, and after a certain point, a subset of TLJ defenders just resorted to the meme that anyone who didn’t like TLJ was a racist, sexist cave-dweller. I think people were so sick of having the discussion that…
I’m feeling the same way about it, I think TLJ was for the most part a pretty mediocre movie and yes I’m going to point out the silly side plot with Finn and Rose being a massive issue for me. The casino planet and all of that nonsense just didn’t add anything of substance to the story. I did like Rise though
I feel you 100%. Its not just that the writers and commenters at this site prefer one movie over another (which is perfectly fine!), it’s that many make out that by disliking TLJ and liking TRoS it somehow speaks negatively about you as a person, that this preference somehow reveals your socio-political affiliations……

Ok well the lady on the right doesn’t seem to care about his appearance, not to mention there are plenty of people that are more then willing to take a torpedo to the reactor core from a unattractive but rich/powerful person. So it isn’t a crazy thought that there are plenty of people in the universe that would be…
It was a JEDI immaculate conception... it’s happened before and it will happen again.
his friends are still there waiting for him
this is the answer i didnt know i was looking for lol
Yeah, the whole Baby Yoda is 50 years old jut doesn’t sit right with me. I just can’t believe any species that took that long to develop to maturity wouldn’t have gotten eaten by dingoes (or the Star Wars equivalent). Plus, Yoda mentions that he has been training Jedi for 800 years, so he would have been around 100…
“And why is this site now so buggy?”
Wow -- doesn’t take much to trigger people any more, does it?
Luke was one of the worst (with Obi-Wan’s help). The minute we meet him, he wants to quit being a farmer and go to the Academy. Then he meets Obi-Wan, who spends most of his time trying to get Luke to quit being a farmer and leave Tatooine. When Luke’s aunt and uncle are killed and the farm is torched, does Obi-Wan…
Exactly, I thought there was a line in one of the films or possibly the series that specifically mentions Jedi would visit any children they thought were Force-sensitive.
Yeah, even in Episode 1 it was mentioned that the only reason Anakin wasn't brought to the Jedi academy earlier was because Tatooine wasn't a part of the Republic so he never got the testing that would have admitted him. A lot of people in the universe probably have Force powers, it's just they never got the chance…
