The bridal party on a dais is so weird and awkward, especially for the dates of attendants. I did this once at a wedding where I knew my date, the groom, and no one else. Super awkward. Plus, my flight had been delayed so much that I actually missed the wedding, so couldn't even use that for small talk.

Best wedding attendant gift I ever got was when the couple paid for my plane ticket to get my broke ass grad student self to their wedding. Seriously, no one wants a little silver box or to have matching necklaces.

That headline is kind of gross. They’re not involved, and they’re not the only reason this is a story.
