My sis was in labor for 24 hours after her water broke before she gave birth to my nephew. Apparently, this allowed the introduction of bacteria into her uterus and my nephew was born with septicemia and had to stay in NICU for 2 weeks. They are both great now, but damn it was a very trying time.

As a mosquito researcher, I can assure you both sexes are approximately the same size (some males can look smaller, but its not significant) and both buzz when flying.
