Oh my, I know that feeling. I had my coffee maker for 5 years before it gave out. It even served as a temporary home for a nest of ants (I live in S. Florida, this is a somewhat normal occurrence in appliances) until I stuck it in the freezer to kill them all, cleaned it out, and used it the same day. It died a few

This is def more believable.

Agreed. Major second hand embarrassment from a fellow yinzer.

Nah. I just googled and Tay is two years younger at 26. I’m still older than both and no where near as wealthy/talented and now I’m sad.

I went into public health and mosquito research specifically so that I could understand disease transmission and create effective and efficient methods of controlling virus-carrying mosquitoes. But Goddamnit, I’m starting to wonder why I even give a shit about the general public; everyone is terrible. I’m accused of

I have learned to be very blunt with my husband and I have to ask him directly what he thinks about something, rather than feels because he is so analytical, not emotional. And in turn, I have thicker skin because he doesn’t couch things to spare my feelings. For a long time, I felt like he kept me around as a matter

Hm. I’m getting what you’re putting down. When you guys go out, does he usually pay? Does he make dinner for you or do anything that would acknowledge you as someone he is grateful to have in his life? From your other discussions, it sounds like he’s bad with emoting and possibly picking up social cues? You seem like

I hear you. My husband is like that, too. It's from his WASPy upbringing. Like, he never buys me cut flowers because he says it's a waste since they die, but I do have 3 beautiful rose bushes he's planted for me for various holidays/anniversaries. He shows me he loves me in different ways.

Outlander? It is worse than Game of Thrones as far as gratuitous sexual assult scenes, but it’s period drama in Scotland with handsome men and pretty women wearing interesting clothing.

Oh man, I had a Tony Moly snail secretion hydrating mask my friend brought me back from Korea, and it was amaaaazing. I am buying the hype.

Bah. I don’t believe the whole ‘falling in love’ thing. It’s a hackneyed trope. I think you’ve got to find someone you’re compatible with, who makes you feel good most of the time. You’ll go through an infatuation phase because it’s fun and new, but really the object is to find someone you enjoy spending time with.

Zika can be vectored by Aedes albopictus which can be found in the Northeast so while it’s still an extremely rarity, it is possible to have locally-acquired infection.

What area of the country did you do mosquito control, though?

Also, I feel it is my duty to instill fear into people who think ants are relatively harmless. There aren’t a great deal of scientists studying ants or invasive ant movement into previously uninfested areas. But trust, ants are playing the long con and will eventually take over our planet.

Agreed. Ticks should be the last on the list for the reasons you mention. Plus, bed bugs are annoying but they don’t transmit disease.

Counterpoint: Some mosquitoes are good and eat other mosquitoes. Some are terrifically beautiful as well (see Sabethes cyaneus). As a Culicinologist, I am deeply offended by this list. Good day, sir.

Love Audiobooks so thanks for this review!

I binged on this show this weekend, and am almost caught up to this episode. I am addicted. Are the books worth the $? I’ve had conflicted reports from different friends.

This makes me so happy I could cry. I, too, have great memories of watching Bob Ross as a child. I can’t wait to watch this and this time I have money to buy real paints and canvas and paint along! I’m going to be brave!

No way, this is great! And you included a Duggar post, my fav.
