I'm in the middle of some calibrations

I think as readers we tend to relate with articles that are close to what we’re experiencing in our lives. I got excited about this article because it’s around the budget I have. I’m sure wealthier people got excited about the $200k budget. Don’t worry, there will be one with a $10k budget again, and maybe even a $5k

For a niche sports car, the BRZ/FRS/86 has sold perfectly fine, especially when you take into account Japan and Australia too.

Meanwhile Japan will have the Recaros and brembos as an option from day one, and will also have a GR and GRMN version (the GRMN with 210hp, but the equivalent of $38k USD). They’ll also have a stripped down JDM-only version that sells for $4k less than the standard model, but no one buys it.

Last October during the Tokyo Motor Show, next door at Toyota Megaweb in Odaiba, they had on display the SFR. The information placard described it as a “future production model” rather than a concept. The fact that Toyota is still showing it this way in a prominent location (Megaweb is their largest corporate flagship

Nope, they did the right thing, by calling it an 86. It’s way more a modern Hachiroku than a Celica. They even benchmarked it against the original AE86.

I didn’t see any preferential treatment. They both had close up pics in this article that didn’t show the whole car. If it makes you feel anybody my non-stinky (proof is in the (unsexy) smog test report) AE86 Corolla only shows up in the background of the Castrol R32 GTR pic.

The Celica emblem and dragon was in the engine bay of a Celica with a Lexus V-8 swap. The yellow/black car is a Corolla.

I miss the Trans-Am-taillighted Wienermobile.

Something that has a lot of substance but no flavor. Unfortunately, “rice” already seems to have other connotations.

I may actually be tempted to pick it back up after a long time of not playing it. This sounds way more chill. I wonder how much it’ll cost to actually acquire a club for someone who hasn’t made any in-game money for a couple years.

According to the lead engineer on the Supra, the vents can be made functional by popping out the insert for track days.

I’m really liking the new wheels on this particular Supra.

My 271hp Evo wouldn’t go that fast....

Modern regulations aren’t friendly to most decades-old engine designs?

So Japanese quality and German engineering?

For a boring sedan, it’s proportioned very nicely.

Same reason the 86 doesn’t have a 4AGE?

I created my girlfriend (now fianceé) in a game once.

I would take an FD RX7 and put a Miata motor in it. Am I doing this right?

I was there. I stood behind that car, looked at it from multiple angles under multiple lighting conditions, for several long periods of time. I even saw it broken down on the side of the freeway (assisted by every other Kaido racer from the cruise-in) and still have zero idea of what it said on the back.
