I knew the top comment about a rear wheel drive sports car with a manual transmission would be a complaint

This reminds me of Kazunori Yamauchi of Gran Turismo commenting that in Japan how they like to make lots of special editions, and they are big fans of the small differences, and this is why you saw 8000 skylines and such in the early Gran Turismo games, even though the small differences may not have mattered over here

I believe further investigation will show that the picture labeled as taken in Monterey is in fact taken on the now closed Fort Ord Army base.

So sorry to hear about Jan. Good luck, I hope you find her soon.

Nice! My pops had a red Jaaag pretty similar (if not the same) as that one. I never remember it running lol.

I lose.  You the coolest

I, for one, if Jalopnik still exists, would love to see an update on the restoration.  The E-type is a historically special car.

lol. But dammit, now I can’t sell any cars. Just in case. :)

You had a deprived childhood, I had the early 70s Corgi die-cast E-Type 2+2 with a working hatch and a sliding rear seat back.

I honestly had no idea that’s how the hatch opened on the E-Type coupe.

Ummmm....how does this van with left-hand drive become “JDM”, which means “Japanese DOMESTIC market”, i.e., cars and vans with the controls on the RIGHT side. This is an AMERICAN-market van, one which was fairly common about 30 years ago (heck, my own sister used to own one). It even has the American bumpers.....

for 15k you can actually get a “JDM dream machine”, not the USDM tribute of it. Or you can get a hiace, Delica, Bongo, or any other quirky actual JDM vans. Certainly looks clean, but lots of options out there for 15k.

Counterpoint - Rosewood Metallic is an actual color, so it should by default be above - grey, slightly less grey, darker grey, black, white, also white and so on.

Toyota Supra Gets a Six-Speed Manual, But Only With the Six-Cylinder Engine

You’re underestimating how expensive the engine development would have been. Toyota hasn’t made an inline 6 in two decades, and the 1JZ/2JZ was in a ton of different cars at the time it was in production (making the development cost justified). The 1UZ development alone was over a billion dollars in 80s/90s money -

“I hate fun and screw everyone who isn’t me.”

The only thing more grating than the “save the manuals” crowd is the “I grew up with manuals and I don’t prefer ‘em, so no one should” crowd

They are everywhere in So cal. I have a 15 minute surface street commute and see them almost every day. There’s even a student where I work with a supra.

I think they actually get this more correct than the EPA does.

That’s part of the problem though. The system probably should take into account interior AND exterior.
