The timing chain issue is so over-blown on the interwebs, it’s not even funny. The most unreliable unit was found in B6 4.2 Audi A4, and even that one was not that terrible. The 4.2 found in later RS’es was, in fact, a new engine, which was loosely based on the out-going 4.2, capable to rev super high (RS5, 8.5K?)

I present you with my favourite: Saab 9-3 OG.
Enormous trunk space, foldable rear seats and enough space overall.

Electricity is easy to export around here, it is happening as we speak.

I don’t get it, describing sound the car makes in such depth, and there are no video or audio clips. I know a video doesn’t do justice, but come on.

Norway is a great example of drunk driving punishment (and this is more or less the same in other Scandinavian countries):

And you don’t publish video snippets of the ridiculous exhaust note, because?

Stop the bullshit. Parts are available. Orio AB.

Saab parts are readily available, and they are not going anywhere soon. Even if alternative spares run out, Saabparts AB, which was subdivision of Saab, now called Orio AB, still offer OEM parts for Saabs.

Let me just add, that after I’ve gone through the craigslist ad and the hackday project build, this guy is a professional, and this is not his first EV conversion, so I think this will land in safe hands to be completed.

I like this car, and I hate it so much for being CVT only. I mean, really, put a conventional automatic in it, if not manual.

So, basically, a Saab 9-5 then? 2.3 four, 260 HP and 365Nm of torque, starting from 1900rpm, available with automatic and manual? Stage1 - 275/410, but oh, the tuning possibilities.

Here, have a reply.

Haha, and now it looks like a Fisker.

How are turbocharged engines not more efficient than NA ones?
Turbocharging increases VE quite significantly, and, they run off exhaust gass, which is otherwise wasted.
I agree that there are multiple perspectives from which the efficiency can be rated, but decreasing engine capacity and adding turbochargerto

Then why are you asking about their statement, if their statement is based on EPA?

Turbo’s do not work to their max capacity all the time. How much boost do they provide while you’re cruising - almost nothing.
What they have done, they have increased peak boost to 1.1 Bar. That does not increase the fuel consumption under normal driving loads.

It’s air request, based on the throttle position map. For example, if you go 45% in to the throttle at 2.000 RPM in, for example, 6th gear, you will still get 80-90% readout on the torque gauge. Informatively, the gauges are useless, they, more or less, represent what you request from the car, not what it actually

So, the lawsuits are going becasue of the features misleading name? Shit, had no idea that the car is not completely autonomous when it warns me to keep my hands on the wheel, or the car deviates from the course I would like it to go, but fuck it, it’s autopilot, it will figure everything out by itself.

What about the V12 TDI Q7? Only available in EU?

They are required everywhere in EU, and so is the knowledge of proper usage.
