Not that I’m some “Head of the Class” purist (it was a clear Kotter knock-off even to this teenager back in the late ‘80s), but the concept of this sounds less like reboot and more like the continuing trend of taking a TOTALLY different plot and tying a thin thread to a nostalgic property.

Hemingway, the myth and the writing, will always hold a special place in my heart, even if he was already seen as the problematic symbol of the American “canon” even back when I was a writing major in ‘95.

Never could get into Emby. Have tried it a couple times, but it never really took. Then again, I bought a Plex Pass like 12 years ago when they were super cheap and never looked back.

Other than the current subscription model and UI diffs (which tend to come down to personal taste), any other things that I’m missing

The Simpsons has managed to move straight to the “disappointing reboot” phase of ‘90s pop culture without the economically negative requirement of ever going away in the first place.

The simpsons may not be at their best anymore, but they are still

Comic book crowd loves meta jokes unless the meta jokes are pointed at them.

The more things change, the more the Academy falls for any movie about Hollywood. Not that Mank is bad, and not that it wasn’t an obvious Oscar movie in a scattered year (both in terms of the ongoing distribution evolution, but also *gesticulates wildly at everything around us*). But it’s such an on-the-nose “Oscar

is just a pilot at this point and may never air on regular TV

I’ll agree with the comment below that Masseduction has a lack of restraint that I liked more. But I don’t think that’s an artistic slam vs. taste.

I think it’s an okay album and I like a number of songs on it (Los Ageless was released as a single so far before the album it feels disconnected for me, but Happy Birthday, Johnny, New York, Slow Disco are all good).

Guess I prefer the earlier albums more. The St. Vincent album was sort of the start of that evolution

The word “walk” is carrying a lot of weight in that description. Weight gained by eating all those donuts. But carrying it all the same.

The distance between the quality of a hot KK regular glazed donut and a cold KK regular glazed donut is the truest representation of the concept of “infinity.

Masseduction wasn’t a hit for me, but I’m totally here for the grungy Blondie vibe I’m getting from that video. Seems like a lot of the sound is still very much in the last album’s wheelhouse, but getting a little more focused.

Kodachrome gives those nice bright colors. Gives you the greens of summer. Makes you think all the world’s a sunny day, oh yeah.

While the sandwich is good, the fish and chips plate is literally the most underrated thing on the Culver’s menu.

Whew was thinking we wouldn’t  have some unrelated coincidences for the anti-mask crowd to crow about. But thankfully this news comes on the heels of their social media smacking their “neanderthal” governor in the face. So Jethro and all the other mask-denying Billy Bobs can claim that they’re “virtual signaling” was

There’s a reason the recipe is buried at the bottom of the blog... If people earnestly wanted to serve the reader AND have the context, the recipe would be up top and let people who are interested in learning more read further down the page.

Anyway. Scrolling is not hard, and a lot of sites and blogs have a “skip to the recipe” function.
