Fair enough. The grander point isn't about controls but that the two markets are very different. Console gamers don't get to adjust things like AA or blur intensity. PC gamers get mad when they can't.

In some form, I would imagine some things are being ramped up for Windows 9, like kernel improvements and whatnot. It doesn't have to be running a finished version of Windows 9 as it will only run a modified version (Kernel+APLs+Modified APIs)

They likely just mean the Windows 9 kernel. All of the APIs will be specific to the Xbox, ergo it won't have to be right at (or after) the Windows 9 launch.

Windows is a 2-3 year launch cycle when they are operating like they want. That would make it mid 2014. (Windows 8 is an early 2012 launch)

Windows 8 will be available early 2012. This won't be available until probably 2014, which is probably around the same time Windows 9 will launch. I think the important thing to see is the direction that Windows is going right now.
