It’s supposed to be installed in an enclosure. That being said, careful installers usually wrap the entire fixture in electrical tape before installing.

I would like an example of something that you’re “surprised” to find out you’re also on the hook for after purchasing the ticket.

Every time I buy a ticket on-line there’s a box which comes up and says in essence: “we charge the following fees: cancellation $X, checked bag $X, etc. and by buying this ticket you acknowledge those fees.” So I don’t see how they’re not disclosed.

Or you could just buy a laser printer for not much more than the cost of a set of ink cartridges and never have to worry about any of this nonsense ever again.

How invisible? All the extra fees are fully disclosed when you buy a ticket. In fact you need to explicitly acknowledge that you’re aware of them before you buy the ticket.

Or buy the refundable ticket class.
