I'll take your word for it that the anonymous, newly-made burner account is who it says it is, because I actually find the implications of this even funnier than making a lazier reply like "timpster, is that you?"

Which makes it that much more sad when potential employers are asking and the ALA are touting that you absolutely need a Master's degree to perform any job in the Library field. It's really vicious, when some of the potential employers know this is not actually necessary. I firmly believe some of these places use this

I've done bad jobs. I was in tech support for Cox Communications for 9 years. I was pulling down ~$40k/yr doing that, without schooling, but I wasn't happy at ALL. The last year, I was on stress leave, I was having panic attacks, and I was suffering from severe clinical depression.

I watched the first two episodes and, while not terrible, it just didn't hold my attention.

One argument for lending video games is that they are part of the cultural conversation. Public libraries tend to be great equalizers—we provide information and entertainment for free no matter who you are or how much money you make. If everyone is talking about the latest best-selling novel, you can find it at

I dunno anymore. Since I lost the taste for it, I'm not sure what I'd dig. Suspect I'll be picking things up and putting them down, unfinished, but I'm always willing to listen to recommendations.

Trello, which I use to track all sorts of projects and information, and Feedly, which brings me much more information to track (including this post). Disclaimer: I pay for Feedly Pro, but wouldn't have to to get everything I use.

Changed my whole sleep routine! I have owned all three models and I find the entry model to be the most effective.

I work in out Design Technology department so use Evernote to store all the solutions i come across or workout. I also use it as the beginning of the tutorials, training, and standards i write. This has been ridiculously helpful now that i'm with another company I don't have to re-write everything and learn all over

I have notebooks labelled "Diet Research", "Neuro Research", "Health Research", and "Political Research" where I file away research that contains information I want to be able to find again. Abstracts and citations, and often whole papers if they aren't behind a paywall.

I keep a year-round running list of gift ideas for Christmas, that way when the holiday rolls around, I'm not sitting there wondering what to get everyone. I just use Evernote's Web Clipper and save anything that I stumble upon that could make for a good Christmas gift.

Although not in Evernote, I keep a running list of movies I own so I don't end up buying duplicates. The latest iteration is in Sheets and has been working pretty darn well. It's shared with family\friends a well to help reduce the "hey do you already have?" line of questioning.

...I have a note that is mostly just URLs of important gifs. Like this. And this.

Preview will handle nearly every type of file you throw at it and the PDF markup options are really powerful. Couldn't work without it.

I'm a Chrome user on desktop, so you'd think my choice for a mobile browser would follow suit. But after iOS 8, I made the switch from Chrome to Safari and haven't looked back. I like that Chrome keeps my settings synced up across devices, but it turns out, I don't really care about that on mobile. Whatever I'm

Apple Maps got off to a pretty bad start, but it's better since the launch. So far, it hasn't lead me into a canyon. The sad, pathetic reason I like Apple Maps more than Google Maps? It works really well on iOS and doesn't require a bunch of tweaking. I used Google Maps for a long time, but I got sick of it quitting

I know I'm going to get thrown into the fire for this, but for me personally, Apple Mail on iOS is all I want in an email client. I don't do email on iOS very often, if I did, I'd use Dispatch, but I'm in front of my computer all day long, so mobile email isn't really a necessity for me. What is useful is Mail's VIP

You can't compare past with present. Software has changed, people have changed, businesses have changed.
