A lot of libraries are just beginning their eBook content, so of course with a smaller collection most will be checked out. It gets better though, and the wait lists go MUCH faster digitally as people can't keep a book out for two months past its due date.
As a librarian, let me tell you firsthand - we have no way of knowing whether or not you rip the CDs.
"When your lending period is up, the book is automatically "checked back in" and removed from your device, so you don't need to worry about late fees."
I'm not being ambiguous - I'm just not doing the research for you. I make it a habit to not do the work for others. It's really not that difficult, and at the Apple announcement event they went into specific measurements, but as I have no problem comprehending the definition of Retina, I don't feel like wasting my…
"There isn't a definition of Retina anywhere as it's marketing garb. They'd just like you to think that it's not being able to see the pixels but in reality as it's not clearly defined it can be used for anything."
"You plug in the resolution and the size, and it'll tell you how far away you need to sit in order to have that Retina experience."
If you think the sign-up website is lame, then yes. It's a red flag that you should sign up for this course.
I recommend Jamie Rubin's Paperless posts on how he uses Evernote - they really helped me see Evernote's potential when I decided to utilize it more.
That's exactly the type of note I would put in Evernote, personally - and I actually have one ;) I keep all measurements of things I need in Evernote (house measurements, serial codes for products, etc), so I legitimately have a note titled Shoe Sizes, with my sizes for the various shoe brands I buy (because I can…
At first I was extremely excited to hear the news, and the new design looks snazzy. But, I'm running into some issues as I manually port my todos over (to familiarize myself with the application).
But you own CS6, yes? It's not like they're taking that away from you. You just won't get a whole lot of updates to the software.
I agree with your point 2, but your point 1 is your opinion. I happen to find Windows 8 infinitely more attractive than all the bevel and shine of 7.
Odd. I've been a Mac user for five years (though PC for 10+ years before that) and I sat at a Surface Pro and instinctively knew how to navigate the OS with few problems.
Well that's a valid opinion to which you're entitled. Me — I'm perfectly happy with my Creative Cloud subscription and am never turning back (unless Adobe royally screws something up).
Well that'd be pretty redundant seeing as the software already works offline.
Yes it will - it's already won over quite the number of customers, including me. Just because YOU don't think it's a good idea doesn't make it true. Sorry.
IT'S. NOT. ONLINE. Let me repeat because people seem to be missing it. It. Is. Not. Online. You install the software locally. As long as you connect to the internet once every 30 days, you're golden.
As everyone has been telling everyone else who assumes wrongly on this, you DO NOT work online. You download the application just like if you'd purchased the suite as a whole. It's installed on your machine. You don't need internet access to run it. All you need is to be connected to the internet at some point every…
It's not so much that they are copying Apple, as they're subscribing to the same design philosophy. Apple is a prominent user of combining flat & minimalistic with skeumorphism, but they're not alone nor did they truly pioneer it — though there's no denying they're one of the most obvious examples in day to day life.
