It just depends how it’s made. I’ve had some terrible iced coffee and some terrible cold brew. Both made with good beans and ratios are good in their own distinctive way. 

I do prefer it to their iced coffee... and they are everywhere so I do get one from time to time. But yeah it’s not as good as homemade.

It might be how they are making it...or how the place they are ordering it from is making it. It definitely took me a while to get it just right.
