I think you should clarify that you are using a TV (based on what you said in another post).... most PC gamers play on smaller screens at a desk than the one you are using (20-30 inch range). I don’t think the people you are discussing this with realize this, and it’s a massive factor to choosing resolution over FPS.

Gotcha. Yes if you’re playing on TVs, and especially if you play non-competitive type games (larger screens typically have a bit more input lag), then yes 4k would definitely be noticeable. 24-27 inch screens are kind of the sweet spot for competitive shooters (most pros stay in this range). While I’m far from a pro,

Hadn’t seen this. That’s pretty good.

Is 2160p really that much more noticeable than 1440p? If it’s a huge screen that’s understandable, but I just couldn’t seem to pick up the difference between two monitors in the low 20 inch range. I swapped my 4k/60hz monitor for a 1440p/165hz monitor for this reason. I think it’s all personal preference, but I’ll

Yep anything fast paced at 144 is just amazing. 30 to 60 is much more noticeable immediately, but 144+ is something you appreciate over time.

I disagree. The last decade or so of terrible CoD games came and went (OK, the original MW was OK), and there were plenty of great games that emerged in that time span. Unfortunately for years, military shooters were what was most popular, but I don’t think it had a negative effect on the industry. And yes I’m saying

This isn’t wrong. But like BlackJack and other table games, it can be pretty fun with friends.

Most do.

I, like the many others that read Jalopnik, prefer going to independent mechanics over the dealership, which typically charges 3-4x for the same repair (in my experience.... $800 for a window motor replacement???). No one should be expected to have a relationship with their dealer. Come on man, are you serious? This

If you can find somewhere in writing that dealers or manufacturers MUST provide loaners, let me know. I looked everywhere and pushed back on both the dealership and the manufacturer (GM). They both said that was not an option. Our family lawyer even agreed, there’s not much to do about it, and it wouldn’t be worth it

You’re also forgetting that there has been a shortage of parts. Mine took 3 months for them to come in. Had to drive my car during that time period. It depends on the make and model, but it’s pretty common that people are waiting for the parts and can’t afford a rental.

I don’t think it would have, since it was after the play. There was a recent TD callback this year (Tulsa?), but it was because the player did a dance (if you could even call it that) BEFORE running into the end zone, so they marked it at the spot of the foul. It was still absolute bullshit and infuriates me like

It doesn’t look like you have a ton of space for your mouse! It probably depends on the game, but when I’m playing Overwatch or anything fast paced/competitive, I want as much space as possible with no obstacles for long, sweeping motions. This thing helps as well, which is basically a yoga mat: https://www.pcgamingrac

GO MAYHEM. Eh still just not sure about the whole city/region thing..... I really want it to work out but I’m not sure if this is the right approach. We shall see.

I got my SteamLink on sale a while back for around $15-20... and for the price it’s just an absurd value for what it adds to your home in terms of gaming functionality. I wouldn’t play any fast paced competitive games using it (there will always be some very slight lag), but it’s perfect for games meant to be played

Drank a 2015 Celebration that I left at my in laws a couple Christmases ago.... not bad! I’ve always heard they age well, but never could leave one be for that long. Might prefer it in that condition as a proper “winter” beer, opposed to a more fresh example...which is delicious, but just doesn’t scream winter beer to

Depending on the game, an esports coach does what a coach would do in any other sport. That could mean calling plays, making situational lineup changes, finding strengths and weaknesses in the players on the team as well as the opposing team and making changes to capitalize.... you get the idea. Each game is

I’ve definitely gotten a fucking cramp in my hand after an intense Overwatch round in OT..... and don’t even mention carpal tunnel. Does that count as physical exertion?

Have you ever played a competitive game that there are esports organizations for? Like seriously put all your effort into communicating with your team, practicing, and actually giving it your all in ranked matches? I played sports (football, swimming, track) in high school and college, and currently play Overwatch

I think MS finally lost me this generation. The PS4 clearly has the better exclusives, and that’s really what it comes down to. Better hardware simply isn’t a draw if there’s nothing worth playing. Within a year of the One’s launch I was stuck deciding between the two, as I owned both of the last gen.... but was also
