Cash for Clunkers II: The streets are safe for no car.

I know this sounds cliche, but that ALWAYS happens to me when I'm out for a casual drive around a race track.

Every article or video I see of Singer and where they are now just reminds me of the times I hung out in the shop helping them tinker with foam and clay on the original prototype... or just hanging out and being nosey. Things weren't so clear cut as to the direction of the car and the company back then, which is why

I'm pretty sure I know what the current Lambo design staff watched as children.

My favorite story is about the Brazil GP last season and why he wasn't there for first practice. I've read articles where they said he missed his plane from LA, or that he was held up for some reason. But during the race (or maybe qual, can't remember), Bob Varsha said that he was apparently so drunk when he showed

I must be one of the few that thinks the Koenigsegg looks like an amorphous blob with go-fast stripes.

Also consider that the 935, aft of the rear window, is all tube frame. The car in the video is a full 911 tub under all the fiberglass. Beating a dead horse here, but just for the sake of saying so.

Now playing

In case anyone feels like sitting down and watching an entire race from 1984.... I did. And it's epic.

Not to downplay Senna's run in this race, but adding to the excitement was another back marker, the brilliant Stefan Bellof, making time on Senna with each lap. Had the race continued, it would have been an epic battle between Senna and Bellof, with Prost crying in the rain behind them.

They start for around $50K.... last I saw anyway. Probably more now.

Noted. However, I still want a Beck 904. I could actually drive it.

Are we absolutely sure that it's not a Beck 904? Given the other exotic Porsches on hand, I'll give Suneil the benefit of the doubt. However, the Beck replica is, other than a couple safety concerns and technological updates, almost a dead on 904. Just throwing that out there. And I really want a Beck 904.

You won't regret it.

If you keep it unmolested and don't beat on it too hard, they will run until long after the sun expands and engulfs the solar system... considering it was well maintained to begin with. Parts are expensive, and there are things on it that will inevitably fail. So, say, if the alternator hasn't already been

Thank you, sir!

Best idea EVAR!

Thanks much! The Fuchs are 17" Linea Corse replicas I painted black. Easier to find R-comps for 17's than the original 16's.

Another shot with my buddy's '82 SC and some other friends.

I love my '82 SC. I've had it for almost 7 years, and it still puts a smile on my face every time i drive it. And I beat the hell out of it too. They're much happier cars when you drive them into the ground.

Looks like this was the idea behind the paint job..
