Man, I always loved this guy in Coen movies. One of the best parts in The Man Who Wasn't There, and that's a movie that is stacked to the brim with talent. Gonna watch that and Miller's Crossing today in memoriam.

The "Shut Up Kiss Me" video was shot there, too I believe. I recognize that bar but can't put my finger on which one. Kinda looks like The Yacht Club with all the tiki stuff taken out.

Loving this record! Had no idea until recently that she lives in my old hometown of Asheville, NC. When I still lived there, I heard rumors she was dating one of the local record store owners, which I thought was unusual, but makes sense in retrospect.

This is fantastic! I loved her last record, but after a few listens this is definitely a frontrunner for best of 2016.

It was produced as a cross-promotion with Pizza Hut I believe, or maybe the live tour was as well?

I saw her open for Danny Brown a few years ago…I hope she's gotten better. She played a few very mediocre songs and then left the stage with a quickness that suggests she's used to having things thrown at her from the audience.

Interestingly enough, the team behind this book ALSO did a twisted take on that tale called "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" and it's fantastic.

When I was a kid, I rented the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles concert film "Coming Out of their Shells" so many times, my dad had to institute a ban on it. Every time we went to the video store, on the way in he'd be like "You can rent whatever you want, even outside the kids section, as long as it isn't that

You are not alone! I think there are quite a few of us that were drawn to this and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. That twisted sense of humor has carried on for some 20 years since!

Both were excellent books. My 4th grade teacher read us The True Story of The Three Little Pigs!, and it had such a huge impact on my sense of humor. Can't remember if I picked up Stinky Cheese Man before or after that, but the revelation that they were done by the same team was a proud moment.

It's actually the other way around. Amazon refuses to sell Apple TV's or put their app on the Apple TV, because they don't want to give Apple their revenue cut from the App Store. Why they don't just leave the purchases web-only like say, Comixology (Amazon owned) is beyond me.

I just pretend its The Weeknd, it sounds pretty close.

iTunes Gift Cards too!

Quoting Elliott Smith towards the end there was an interesting touch, too.

Can we get Rabin back for some music reviews in addition to the other articles he's been contributing lately? Never cared for his TV reviews (pills in the jelly beans #neverforget) but he is one of the few writers here who ever really had a good grasp on hip hop and R&B.

I produce a standup comedy festival in NC, and this year almost half our lineup were women. It is not hard. Funny women are everywhere right now. If you're not able to hit that 50/50 standard, you're doing it wrong.

I don't know if the appropriate headspace/environment is "high as fuck in Los Angeles", but I have listened a few times now in that particular headspace/environment and have been enjoying it thoroughly.

Isn't Run the Jewels 3 possibly in the mix for this year as well? They seem to favor a fall release, and I can't imagine we're going to have to wait until 2017.
