I assumed 10-15 after the 5th episode was billed as the end of act 1. Assuming each act would be roughly 5 episodes and we were looking at a 2 or 3 act play.

Has anyone counted how many times 70's Edie Falco said "You're gonna wake up your father" or "Don't wake up your father"? I don't know if it was the repetition or her delivery, but it was such a great illustration of the constant terror that she and her children lived in. She just wanted him asleep as long as…
I had the same thought above. Poor Horace has been tortured by that story for 40 years. It put a lot of things in perspective in a way that was more subtle and nuanced than hearing Horace VII beat the shit out of young Pete for being disturbed (although that was heartbreaking as well).
Learning that Uncle Pete has been making Horace relive that tee-ball story for 40 years (presumably with no breaks in between) was a real revelation about the generation that preceded them. So well done.
For all the hand-wringing over what it might end up costing, it ended up at $31. That's less than I pay for a month of Netflix+Hulu+HBO and I easily enjoyed this more than anything I watched on those 3 services over the last 10 weeks.
I marathoned the whole thing in one sitting today because this episode made me feel like not leaving my house or talking to anyone.
This is great and all, but where is the Horace and Pete review? We NEED to talk about this.
Hold the sun dried tomatoes. I hate those.
That thing looks like the Broodwich.
Not sure what it's like elsewhere, but at our show the emcee reminded everyone to not yell things out during the performance. Sad that this even needs to be said, but needless to say things went swimmingly as a result.
I just got back from seeing Dave Chappelle at The Palladium here in Los Angeles. A friend had a spare ticket, and I ended up going on a whim. Had no idea he was even in town.
Rockin' this metropolis?
I loved his appearance on The Sopranos. That episode is one of my all time favorites, and he's the center of a great exchange between Tony and David Scatino when he's trying to keep him out of the game. They discuss the fact that Frank's there and, trying to get back on the subject David goes "So how is it" (referring…
I decided to split the cost of it with my dad. We both threw $20 in a Paypal which should cover the whole run. But if it costs more than $40 when all's said and done, I'll gladly pay whatever it costs.
That was actually debunked as not being a sample of The Pyramid Song, but I think it was intended to be a legally-distinct reference.
That's the Hiphopppotamus, actually.
I missed the monologue, but I've been watching Chris Rock work on this set all week at the Comedy Store. It's been really interesting to watch him try and polish those jokes in front of a very different audience.
We all appreciate your New Years resolution to be more honest, Mancy, but I think you're overselling it a bit.
Chip's Challenge or GTFO.
If you've seen the first season of American Horror Story, you DEFINITELY already have.
