You don’t get it - that would be tantamount to admitting they were wrong about something. And modern conservatism has only one guiding principle at this point - “Never back down, never admit fault, and never say you were wrong. EVER.”

What’s especially maddening is that the play that caused this rule (Barr sacking Rodgers and breaking his collarbone) was a clean, run-of-the-mill football play.  And I say that as a lifelong Packer fan.  It sucked that Rodgers got hurt and it blew up our season, but there was nothing dirty about that play.
