I would rather have Onoin in the White house.
I would rather have Onoin in the White house.
I don’t know how long Breitbart will remain niche, now that Steve Bannon is a key adviser to the Trump White House. The blog will get all kinds of special access, becoming a go-to source for Trump “news”.
This is an incredibly valid point. The sheer hubris behind the (DNC and Clinton) thinking that everyone would get on board when they KNEW how her baggage played to the voters. Even if it was mostly manufactured lies and OUTRAGE over political business-as-usual. The problem with the latter is, we’re sick of it and the…
That totality of people who didn’t vote for her and did vote for Obama don’t hate her because she’s “unlikable” or a woman. Remember, Obama got 10 million more votes then she turned out in 08 and 5 million more in 12. The 5 million people who stayed on in ‘12 aren’t the racist, misogynist bastards your looking for,…
I think you’re absolutely right.
The notion that Bernie Bros caused her to lose is an unprovable straw-man.
Very true.
Exactly this!
We will never know if Bernie would have won. Unlike Hillary, he at least was liked and respected. IMO, it’s past time the Democratic Party started truly representing working class people again and stop cozying up to entrenched big money interests.
exactly, and there were plenty of people motivated to stop Trump seeing as he wasn’t even as popular as Mitt fucking Romney. Trump won not because he started a movement, but because Hillary didn’t inspire Obama voters she felt were obligated to vote for her. And of course typical right-wing bigotry
We ran a candidate whom everyone hates and when she lost, our response has largely been to get angry that people failed to get on board with her.
IMO the Democrats got crushed for several reasons:
No, I agree. Someone on another message board said this about his face in those pics with Obama:
Have you been looking at his face on camera since he won, including during today’s meetings with Obama and company? I may be projecting, but I think he looks miserable/scared/overwhelmed.
The magnitude to which people fear or dislike this situation (I refuse to say his name) is staggering...I can’t begin to encompass it given my inner rage coupled with numbness
Yes, a lot about whiteness. Also, a lot about anti-globalization. There’s a waive of isolationism that’s sweeping the globe. It started with Brexit, and now Trump. France is next, and then Germany. Then, who knows? I know that this too has a lot to do with racism (particularly Muslim immigrants), but isolationism…
Earlier today, I mused to a friend - if the previous 8 years was exactly the same, but Obama was just some white guy, does Trump still win now? Impossible to know for sure. But, there was a very strong element of putting non-whites “back in their place” in all of this.
This white person agrees. It was us. I don’t want it to be us, but there it is.
I am just dumbfounded on how this could happen. Just absolutely, 300% done.
I am just going to keep saying this everywhere, because I have zero other words but I feel this knot in my stomach:
