Per numerous Mets beat writers, it was the Mets’ *own idea* to have a 1:10 start time for the home opener, knowing they were playing a night game the day before. They could have chosen a 4pm start, or a 7pm start, and yet they chose 1pm. Such a Mets thing to do.
