MotoGP’s been doing this for a season now http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2017/10/04/top-picks-enjoy-the-best-of-360-onboard-footage/241478
Why not just do what MotoGP has done and allow developing teams concessions for tyres, engines, fuel, etc? It worked by allowing the teams to be competitive as they closed the gap to the more experienced teams
‘Bonus: Red Bull didn’t have a similar idea to that first.’
Quite a few airports already do this... I fly quite a bit with famous people to the same events (at the back of the same plane), and it’s pretty common to only see them arriving at the plane in a BMW 735 at London Heathrow.
That’s only because we’re not allowed to shoot videos at MotoGP ;)
No problem at all with both, but that’s not what the article is calling for!
Exactly. Which is fine. But don’t replace all our question time with fans’ questions!
Nope. Nooooope nope nope! I’m the guy in the black shirt that says MCN on the back in all of those videos, and while I absolutely love the fan questions that MotoGP has introduced this year, the traditional press conference is very much a necessary part of the weekend.
The slightly-more-informal debriefs that riders do…
Or, if you fancy some close racing, there’s always MotoGP ;)
I’ll have a look! Are you heading to MotoGP?
It’s funny how you pick out the little details when you’re near a track... The minute I heard ‘near COTA’ and ‘VFW post’ I knew exactly where you were talking about, despite only being to COTA once! Will keep an eye out for the track now though - back again this month.
Maybe if F1 as a whole was a bit more OK with the concept (like MotoGP is) then they’d have a more competitive and less dull series...
Their CEO confirmed to me a few weeks ago that the new superbike will be a V4. Makes sense, considering their MotoGP experience with them - and the L2s aren’t as much a piece of Ducati history as some people think!
Yep, which means that it’s well over half the grid thanks to the number of Ducatis
Most of the bikes in MotoGP are V4s these days. The perfect combination of compactness, power and smooth delivery. Hard to manufacture, though.
Dainese make one of those too!
America’s best flat trackers versus MotoGP’s best flat trackers at Superprestigio tonight in Barcelona too -and it’s live and free on fanschoice.tv
Calling Dougie a ‘stunt rider’ is a bit dismissive considering he’s a twelve-time trials world champion
I’ve been there loads of times - you don’t even think about running - your brain goes into auto mode and you just keep shooting as instinct.
