TSA rules don’t have much clout in Heathrow

Seconded. I’ll never ever push it on a short haul unless it is an emergency, but if I’m flying long haul, it’s eight hours in, the guy next to me is asleep and I need a drink, then I am sure as hell pushing the button!

Good to see Jalopnik move from normal creepy obsession with Elon Musk and Tesla to ‘living in the bushes outside his house with their binoculars’ creepy obsession...

Honestly, you just need go to events. I started out at small races, got to know people, moved up to national level, got to know more people and built my brand and my reputation then moved to world championship level. Same route that racers take to the top!

And thanks!

Nah. Decent leathers and helmet mean I fell off at nearly 100mph and rode my own bike home that evening without a scratch

Ask away

The guy leading that race (world champion Tim Reeves) is a good friend of mine. We decided a few years ago that it would be a great feature for the magazine I work for to have a go with him. It ended VERY badly...

RA2 was the last great C&C game too, with those incredible live action scenes as well as great gameplay

And since American foreign policy is now to generally inhibit the Iranian military, what with its nasty habit of turning up in all of the world’s worst Middle Eastern war zones and generally befriending dictators the world over

Jalopnik: ‘you guys should watch MotoGP, it’s awesome!’

A lot closer to F1, MotoGP shows how well money can be distributed. Each of our six factory teams get paid nothing at all, and each of the six satellite teams get paid the cost of leasing previous-year bikes from the factory teams.

I travel to Japan quite a bit for work events (small rural area, lot of people arriving) and my go to in recent years have been love hotels. They’re a little hard to book online as a Westerner and you get very funny looks, but they’re very cheap, immaculately clean, and have every conceivable amenity!

Honestly the most useful thing about them is that you can use foreign ATM cards.Japan really surprised me the first time I visited by very much being a cash-only culture, and ATMs are HARD to find!

Responsible for a few of those heat maps! We (some media) walk every MotoGP track on a Thursday ahead of the race, and you can always rely on there being a handful of riders out cycling and running.

I’m an ex-Isle of Man TT photographer, and the idea of standing somewhere like that is just mad, even for us. Bad decision by the photographer and bad marshaling to boot.

It looks like he wasn’t even in gear...

Might have made a difference if they had someone competent on the bike... that’s one of the worst racing starts I’ve ever seen!

Another solution would be to pay an actual minimum wage like the rest of the world, so service workers don’t need to rely on tips...

This is almost exactly the model that MotoGP has adopted, and it’s proven an incredible success. The smaller teams now get considerably more money than the bigger ones, and they’re being leased equipment that is either the current or a year old’s bikes from the factories. Nine different winners last season, two races

I travel a lot and this is essential. Three Lightning cables (two one-metre and one three-metre one), micro and mini USB cables, a Macbook Pro charger plus US, Euro and UK adaptors, a Mac-to-ethernet adaptor (the only one my older Pro needs), and the ultra-useful Mu folding charger and adaptors. All packaged up in a
