Yeah, that Windwaker pictobox sharing was a godsend. I’d always try to contribute what I could, when I could. Particularly for some of the more difficult objects (or even overlooked stuff, like seagulls).

I’ve hosted an art event on Miiverse for over 3 years called Jukebox Draw, the entries were often near the top of the most popular drawings.
It was ahead of its time like the entire Wii U product - a work of genius misunderstood to the common people but genuinely brilliant. In 200 years everybody will be interacting with a Miiverse equivalent when they play games.
Not gonna lie, I’m going to miss the Miiverse. I purposely did not get too attached to any “friends” on there but I certainly saw them as “characters” sharing in their gaming experience.
Thanks for this final piece on Miiverse’s final farewell.
I made a post in the final 2 hours or so saying something like “All these kids drawing peens are gonna grow up and send peen photos to random girls”.
It’ll show cached messages for a while before dropping to offline mode.
It’s sad that Nintendo shut down the only online thing they ever got right.
This maestro/a will be completely unappreciated in their own time. Only historical hindsight will recall their greatness.
I genuinely think that Miiverse is one of the coolest things in games from the last ten years. Yes, on its surface, it was just a silly way to share messages and drawings. But the fact that it was so deeply integrated into the Wii U (literally the first thing you see when you boot up is a sampling of what people are…
Why would they do this? The Miiverse was so much awesomeness. So, when I turn my Wii U on now, will the little people not come out to greet me and have their conversations? To paraphrase Hannibal, “Did the little people stop running, Luke?”
The bottle messages were the best addition to Wind Waker, it helped make sailing more interesting. Plus Miiverse always seemed active and fun, unlike Live were it’s just smack talking and lurkers now.
I get what you are saying. Posting on fb or ps user created groups is not the same. Its like in miiverse everyone was allowed to honestly nerd out and find people that would admire that nerdiness and comment about it. Other spaces are either hostile or timid in comparison.
I wish I could “Yeah” many of those posts but sadly, I cannot. The Wii U home menu is going to be very quiet and very boring from now on...
I totally sympathize with you. I didn’t really start using Miiverse until Splatoon. I also booted up my game and “eerily silent” is most accurate. It’s almost like an empty shell of what it was. I loved Splatfests so much and that sense of community that Miiverse created - the Empathy Network that Satoru Iwata and…
I will truly miss it.
Miiverse was one thing the WiiU did right. Why Nintendo didn’t bring it over to Switch is beyond me especially with how well it was worked into games like Splatoon, Mario Maker, and the best example Wind Waker HD. Real shame.
Aonuma said, ”see you soon”..🤔
Launching in late 2012, Nintendo’s Miiverse allowed Wii U and later 3DS owners to hang out and share stuff like…

Does this mean that we're going back to the starred system? Once a commenter is "approved", his/her comments automatically become visible (the same way the current system works) for all articles?
I understand…
