Um. Ok.

Tell me about it.

But she’s not a boy in a boy’s body. She’s a girl in a boy’s body. Girl brain. Boy body.

Are you suggesting being transgender is a mental disorder?

This is an important point. She doesn’t “want to be a girl” or “feel like a girl.” If you ask her she’ll say, “I am a girl.”

Double star for you :)

The likelihood is quite low, 5-8% in the studies I’ve read. But, if it happens and she wants to float her gender back to be more male, ok. May her beard be thick and smile be large.

Professional psychologists and child development experts disagree, mostlyharmless25.

You’re absolutely right. And she’ll play with Barbie, then watch Pokémon and pretend fight, then change dresses, then play with the toy train.

A middle ground?! There’s a whole spectrum!

Exactly.

Not much I can say to that then.

I think you’d be surprised at what you knew when you were four.

“911 what’s your emergency?

She’s taking the lead, believe me.

With due respect, we would screw her up WAY more if we told her she was wrong to feel this way and demanded she play football and fire trucks.

She’s to young for that. Age 8-9 we’ll see and endocrinologist and get a baseline test for hormones, then keep an eye out for the start of puberty. Probably go on hormone blockers, then introduce estrogen.

A lot of people use the word “let”. We didn’t “let” her. We didn’t grant permission or allow her to do anything more than express who she is.

My daughter didn’t decide she’s transgender. She said she’s a girl. She’s only four :)

Remember to separate gender and sexuality. They are very different.
